Having sat on their arses for a whole month, Sons of Joy finally get around to releasing their long-awaited second album. With their debut from November 2011 now a distant memory, Messrs Merrill and Simpkins approached BBC Radio Suffolk's David Butcher at 8pm with a plan to learn, play, record, digitise and release their second album in 4 hours.

Songs of Joy CD launch at Holy Trinity Church in Colchester

Fiery fiddle duo Sons of Joy release their debut CD Songs of Joy through antigen records on 14 November 2011. They are launching it with a concert in aid of Amnesty International and CO1 at Holy Trinity Church, Colchester CO1 1JR (next to HMV and the library) on Saturday 12 November at 7.30pm. This will be the first opportunity to pick up a copy of their outstanding new album, at a discount price, two days before the official release date!

We are thrilled to announce a very special live concert at Ronnie's Bar, upstairs at PJ McGintys in Ipswich. This may be the last show we promote at McGintys, as the landlord, Veronica Chambers, is leaving at the end of August. She has played a major role supporting bands and promoters in Ipswich over the last 3 years. Her open-minded attitude to music has seen the venue play host to everyone from Ed Sheeran to John Bowers.
