Description

Jack Rundell ruminates on the ephemeral nature of human existence over his catchiest tune in years. Live favourite Death Clock is an enduring classic destined to long outlive Jack’s biological form.

Death Clock was recorded as a morbid 30th birthday present to himself at Old School Studios in Norwich and was produced by Jason Baldock (ex-The Secret Hairdresser), who also played bass and drums. Death Clock is backed with Plans, an ominous overdriven organ-preset synth dirge – the last track recorded at home on Jack’s trusty 4-track cassette recorder, before it gave up the ghost.

Each single was cut in real time by Michael Lawrence at Bladud Flies! to emulate the sound of an old shellac 78 and force the listener to confront the impermanence of all artistic endeavours.  These are collectors’ items for lovers of rare, handcrafted artefacts (and surface noise). It’s important to note that the audio quality is not as high as conventionally-pressed vinyl records. Read more about lathe-cut records here.

Limited to 29 copies.
