May Day madness with Jack Rundell, Dingus Khan and SuperGlu
It’s the May Day bank holiday weekend. If you’re not too busy beheading the village fool in an ancient fertility rite or organising a fete, there’s a veritable cornucopia of musical delights for your entertainment.
Today, Washing Machine and Toonteen Industries present the Bury Fringe All-Dayer at the Hunter Club, featuring our showbiz pals, Jack Rundell and the mighty Dingus Khan.
And on Sunday, we have the Ipswich May Day Festival, celebrating International Workers Day. This is a free, family-friendly event, with only a minimal amount of animal sacrifice, and it takes place at Alexandra Park. Jack Rundell reappears at the Community Tent, where SuperGlu will close the proceedings with an acoustic set.
Update: Jack Rundell responds to my complaint that he only played a 20 minute set at the Bury Fringe All-Dayer, by turning in a May Day performance that seemed to last an eternity.
