Sealionwoman present Selkie – the Musical
This year, Brighton Fringe Festival goers will be able to experience not only the music of Sealionwoman, but the interpretive dancing skills of Kitty Whitelaw and Tye McGivern in their new show at Komedia. The duo has created a new work for the festival, reimagining the Selkie folk-myth and promising dance, music and song, inspired by childhood memories, fevered dreams and Scottish mythology. The production features all-new original compositions, as well as the duo’s reinterpretations of Scottish folk ballads, researched at Cecil Sharp House earlier this year.
Update: Sadly, rumours that the show would feature Kitty in a waterproof bib and brace, reeling in Tye dressed as a mermaid proved to be unfounded.
