Rough Music at the Ovada Warehouse
We’ve read the papers, we’ve seen the preview, we’ve even listened to Nathan on Canadian national radio, now it’s time for the main event, as Nathaniel Robin Mann presents Rough Music at the Ovada Warehouse in Oxford. Celebrating his 18 month stint as composer-in-residence at the Pitt Rivers Museum as part of the Embedded programme, this event will include solo performances by Nathan, Daniel Merrill, Daniela Cascella and Robin Alderton (in his Harpoon Group incarnation). There will be films showing the development of the Pigeon Whistles and Rough Music projects, a transatlantic video link-up with ethnomusicologist Dr Noel Lobley and the “world première” of Rough Music, performed by Dead Rat Orchestra (seen first in Ipswich on 21 March).
