Dingus Khan Latitude aftermath
It’s all over, bar the bill for damages, as the press froths in the aftermath of Dingus Khan’s Latitude exploits.
“A roly-poly ginger man in a blue velvet robe invades the stage, provides the bassist with a folding chair, frots himself suggestively and goads the audience into paroxysms of frenzy. For the first time this weekend, primal rock’n’roll chaos reigns…” (Mojo)
“If anyone deserves an honourable mention at Latitude 2014, it’s probably Dingus Khan. His packed-out Alcove set is all well and good… He spends the majority of the weekend dressed in nothing but a blue bath robe and what looks like a nappy… Three security guards hold him up as he tries to make himself ‘heavy’. He’s pretty much naked by this point… his adventure is over. Chances are he might need to sign a few forms if he’s any hope of being allowed back into Henham Park.” (DIY).
A third appearance does indeed seem unlikely, as lead singer Mick Squalor was locked up in a cage by security on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night for a series of alleged misdemeanours. He was eventually removed from the site on Sunday and arrested as he tried to re-enter the festival, ensuring that his Sunday night was spent imagining the Haim set from a police cell.
