Is he weird?
Nobody who has seen John Callaghan’s auto-karaoke show could be left in any doubt that he is one of the most fearlessly creative and original performers operating out of a suitcase anywhere in the country.
Few who have seen his stage show, are able to purge the memory of Tear My Body Out – a song usually performed wearing the left half of vertically bisected suit, with only an oversized pair of old Y-fronts to protect the Christian sensibilities of the audience. Other songs are delivered draped in glowing plastic eyeballs or from within a large cardboard box. Live renditions of Loudhailer are customarily voiced from the body of a toy cat, perched on the shoulders of a mad scientist puppet.
Is this weird? Some people seem to think so.
