“Do you remember, David? Anything about the night before last?”
Local radio play is not something we had anticipated when we started releasing music by marginalised artists at the turn of the millennium. However, Graeme Mac and Richard Haugh from BBC Introducing in Suffolk have confounded our expectations by providing regular, ongoing support for our journey into the East Anglian heart of darkness. Last week’s show opened with an 8 minute gallows broadside from Dead Rat Orchestra’s Tyburnia and an exclusive preview of the forthcoming Dingus Khan single, Milk of Every Mammal. Admittedly, both tracks opt for relatively conventional arrangements, in as much as there are vocals over music with a beat. What Radio Suffolk listeners made of this week’s contribution from Jack Rundell, one can only imagine.
