Seven long months in the making, the vinyl version of Saltings by Rev Simpkins is now available to pre-order. We have these in the building and they will ship on or before 21 October 2022. This is proper, pressed vinyl album (not a lathe-cut) in a strictly limited edition of 90 copies. It is available with or without the Tom Knight art book.
Previously available in a limited lockdown run, IVF by EMF (Earth Mother Fucker to their friends and family) is now on general release. A band frequently confused with their younger, more attractive namesakes, our EMF can be easily distinguished by their music (imagine a collision between MC5 and early Sonic Youth), Bruce MacGregor’s vocals (imagine a drunk hedge-fund manager retching into a bin) and his peculiar onstage posturing (imagine a Ray Harryhausen stop-motion animation of Peter Stringfellow’s skeleton). IVF was recorded at an Independent Venue Week show at the Smokehouse in Ipswich on 31 January 2020 and is now available as a limited edition CD.
Some of you may be wondering how a company director, property portfolio holder and motorised lawnmower enthusiast like Bruce MacGregor could end up fronting a band like EMF. Especially as he still lives with his mother. Well, you need wonder no longer. The Ugly Fucker compilation CD is out now, charting 36 years of Bruce’s musical decline, from the early 80s teen rock angst of The Suckers, to the rolling mid-life crisis of EMF. It features EP highlights and demo tracks by Tender Lugers – the band that almost derailed Laurence Bell’s dreams of making a living from running a record label. Available as a limited edition CD with an uninformative 4-page booklet.
