Dingus Khan open Pulse Festival 2015

After the infamous “log incident” on the opening night of Pulse 2013, no one was more surprised than us when we were invited back to curate part of the musical programme for this year’s festival at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich.

Perhaps when they reflected back on the events of 2013, they realised  that there’s no such thing as entirely risk-free public art. Or perhaps they simply forgot  we were involved. Most importantly, nobody sued, “compensation culture” was shown to be no more than a right wing media myth and we all had the chance to learn and move on.

In view of the trouble we got into last time, it might have seemed sensible to err on the side of caution this year; to opt for a conservative choice for the opening night’s post-show entertainment. But, guessing the Wolsey would have adequate public liability insurance, we have booked Dingus Khan.

Update: Remarkably, the evening passed without Mick Squalor regurgitating the contents of his stomach over the carpet and no one was upset.
